Set in the gorges of the Cèze river, the naturist campsite of La Genèse benefits from 65 acres of unspoilt nature down by the river side.



La Genèse is for those who like traditional camping, the kind that enables you to ask your neighbour for help when you have forgotten your pump to inflate the mattress. Neighbourliness is standard practice but should you wish to get away from the madding crowd the “Colline” area of the site set up on the hillside will guarantee your peace and quiet together with a great view over the river.



The river is an important element in the life of the camp site. It offers fantastic opportunities for swimming or canoeing. There are over eight hundred yards of stony or sandy beach running by the site where you can set out as venturous explorers to find just where you are going to spread your towel.



At La Genèse, time stands still … so take advantage of the break to recharge your batteries in touch with nature!

Services, leisures and animations

The swimming pool and its slide : The inflatable slide – the pole of attraction of the pool – is just made for thrills. Take your turn and make way for splashdown!



Aquagym : Hard to tell if they have actually worked out, but our holidaymakers really do look happy!



Sport for everyone! People come to La Genèse first and foremost for a rest, but from time to time you need a bit of action, to move, enjoy some sport and have fun!

What if this summer I decided to get fit ...(Tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, badminton, swimming, fitness lessons, table-tennis, hiking.

The restaurant : Our chef Sébastien will delight your palate with his lovingly prepared dishes. His inventive cuisine will enable you to taste and enjoy mouth-watering fare from the south and elsewhere.



Storming of the Bastille... On July 14 every year, the banks of the Cèze river serve as the stage for a « storming of the Bastille » revisited by children. The famous castle, made in cardboard, is attacked by the young assailants coming up the river in canoes. The battle, using bags of flour, is ferocious and ends in a joyful free-for-all.



Barlabas : When the sun goes down, the _Barlabas_ comes to life, offering the pleasure of settling on the terrace with your friends to enjoy a good time together. It has been entirely renovated this year to welcome entertainment and evening shows.

Description of region

The mountain chain of the Cévennes is part of the Massif Central. This lush, green region, straddling the county of the Gard to the south of the Ardèche, is a source of sheer delight for lovers of nature and history. For centuries, the region was occupied by the Romans, as evidenced by the numerous remains to be visited such as the Pont du Gard and the Square House and the Amphitheatre in Nimes.

You can also discover Europe’s largest bamboo plantation in Anduze together with its Grand Duchy or visit the show mine of Ales, not forgetting the caves of La Cocalière.



The countryside of the Cévennes offers a host of attractions for hikers seeking to enjoy wide open spaces. The Cèze river, with its source in the Lozère before running through the Gard, brings that welcome touch of coolness in hot weather.
